The past May 31st around one thousand people attended the opening of the Casino Asuncion, located in the most elegant area of the Paraguayan capital.

At the Casino entrance, the guests were welcomed by a group of jugglers, mimes, fire-eaters and magicians. The opening act was filled with emotion with the performance of Paraguay’s national hymn and the blessing of the Casino facilities.

The cutting of the opening ribbon was carried out by Mr. Porfirio A. Aquino, President &CEO of the Casino Asuncion, and by Mr. Arnulfo Cabrera, President of the National Gaming Commission of Paraguay (CONAJZAR); who were accompanied by Mr. Osvaldo Benítez, Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior of Paraguay and by Mr. Gustavo Fatelevich, Vice-president of the Worest Group.

During his speech, the President of CONAJZAR, emphasized the importance that this new Casino will have for the country’s tourism and for the autochthonous population due to the large number of jobs created.
He also referred to the Casino facilities, outstanding their modernity, technological equipment and innovative design. On the other hand, the Vicepresident of the Worest Group welcomed all with a brilliant speech in which he highlighted the high investment that this Argentinean business group has made with the opening of the Casino Asuncion, especially in the present times when the economic crisis is seriously affecting countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

Mr. Fatelevich stressed that they had spared no expenses to be able to offer the citizens of Asuncion one of the most modern and technologically advanced Casinos in Latin America. Once the official opening ceremony had concluded, the Worest Group, owners of the Casino Asuncion, gave a gala dinner to their guests, which was livened up by the performance of the famous Argentinean musical group “Memphis La Blusera” and by a fashion parade, in which the croupiers elegantly showed the uniforms they will wear during their work.
Amongst those present we would like to highlight the attendance of distinguished members of the “Gaming VIP Club” (GVC), such as Mr. Rufino Serrano, President of Hispania Casino Equipment, pain; Mr. Luis A. Fernández, Manager of Casinos MRP, Ecuador; Mr. Giorgio Gennari, President of Monografie, Argentina; Mr. Clive Martínez, General Manager of Casino Resources and Management, Great Britain; Mr. Aníbal Salomón, President of Nomovatic, S.A, Paraguay; Mr. José Camuglia, President of Formanova, Argentina; and Mr. Pedro Galindo y Guerra, President of G&G Cia.Europea de Imagen y Comunicación, Spain.

Other distinguished personages were Mr. Carlos Mautone, responsible of Bally Gaming for South America; Mr. Gabriel Romano, representative of Recreativos Franco América, Colombia; Mr. Eduardo Helman, Manager of Azartron, Argentina; Mr. Joseph Giovannoni, Manager of the Casino del Yacht, Paraguay; as well as important officials of the Paraguayan government and the Worest Group.
